MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rear hub stud ID quiz

Can anyone identify the studs that I have on the rear of my K-series midget please? All the mods, including the alloy wheels, where added by the previous owner and I don't have full documentation.

The studs are standard 3/8" UNF thread, 42mm overall length, 37mm from under the head, 21mm thread length. The serrations where they fit in the hub are what I would describe as the standard fine serrations used on Sprites and Midgets (I have seen some Mini studs with courser serrations).

These studs give approximately 12 turns when putting wheel nuts on, so about 1.5 times the read diameter, and I'm happy with that.

All four studs on the near side look fine, but three out of four on the off side are showing signs of damage, hence I'd like to replace them while I've got the hub off.

Any suggestions for what these studs might be please - and where I might buy some? If I end up with Mini studs having the courser serrations, can I just press them in regardless?

Many thanks in advance,
Jon

I used Mini studs on my rear hubs, but I didn’t think the splines were any different.

Peter May Engineering list some 50mm studs. Would they be too long?

They also list three different thickness wheel spacers with studs. Maybe they’ll supply studs separately, if they’re the correct length.

Demon Tweeks do many different studs; they do a 3/8" in 50mm length, and sell them singly

Also most good alloy wheel suppliers and refurbishers should do studs too.
