MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Midget Side Window
The side screen of my midget has shattered. I have a spare door With Window but it is in a non matching colour which I would have to respray latter. If anyone has changed the side window or door I would be gratefull of any advice on weather it would be easier to change the the window or as I suspect the whole door. Cheers

Mike;;; Just change the window. It should not take over 60 minutes. No painting and fitting-adjusting new door to old opening. Sandy

sandy...."it should not take over 60 minutes"...I agree...but the FIRST side took me about two days until i worked out how it all fitted together!

Yeah, messing about inside the doors makes you appreciate (if that's the word) the engineering that packed all that stuff into such a small space. I agree, just swap the window over. You'll need to loosen up the regulator mechanism to get the lifter knobs out of the channel at the bottom of the glass so you can lift it out. And in order to fit the replacement glass down into the door slot, you'll have to remove at least the outer (rubber) weather strip so that the channel can fit down through the slot. And of course, getting the weatherstrip clips back in is one of our favorite jobs. ;-) -:G:-
