MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Midget Doors

Can anyone advise me, I am building a midget and I can't get the door to close. The qtr lights foul the windscreen there is a hard top fitted any ideas?

There are two adjustments which you need to be aware of.

The quarterlights need to be loosely fitted to the doors - i.e. the two bolts through the front, the two nuts underneath and the bottom bracket all need to be loose.

The windscreen frame needs to be loosely fitted to the car.

The windscreen frame should be adjusted fore and aft to align with the quarterlights.

The quarterlights should be adjusted laterally to align with the windscreen frame.

When everything is aligned, tighten all nuts and bolts.

Thanks for the info Dave, do I need to take the dash back out and how critical are the shims on the screen pillars?

everything dave says is true...let everything be loose until all components line up...and then tighten the fixings.
The shims on the screen pillars are crucial. If they are not in place you risk overstressing the galss...with obvious consequences! Place the shims as required to take up any slack between screen and body and then put in the bolts.

No, you don't need to take the dash out, but it helps if the two corner brackets are unbolted.
