MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Midget 1500 : where is chassis number?

Hello,

I have a problem, I can not find the chassis number on my midget 1500 (1978), where is?

Thank you very much.

It should be on a plate on the lefthand side of the engine bay.

If you look kcarefully at the photo, you can just make it out to the right of the red lead.

It may be hidden by the heater trunking, if you have any.

also if it was made after August '77 it should have the VIN number stamped into the driver's floor panel just in front of the cross-member.

Thank you for yours answer!

Or it could even be on the chassis legs that hold up the bumper - that's a place that I've seen them as well!

Basically, sorry to be awkward - but, it could be anywhere that any previous owner put it if they had to change it at any stage ....

Good luck :)

Also, if it's a North American model, it should be on the driver's B-post.

You should also find stamped on a plate atop the instrument panel; you can see it through the windshield.
