MG Midget and Sprite Technical - LCB exhaust

Bought an LCB off ebay a while ago. Came to fit it recently and it doesn't fit.
Looks ok but it don't fit between the engine and chassis rail. The shell is a Heritage 1996 and is a RWA so an LCB shuld fit without modifying the chassis - shouldn't it?

Well I have a Heritage shell and it did need a little 'persuasion' and dressing locally to fit.

Would have been easier to fit prior to dropping engine into place.

What make is yours - mine is a Maniflow and fits very well keeping exhaust fairly well up to floor.

All the (many) LCBs I've seen go between the chassis rail and lower inner wing, not between engine & chassis rail. And the gap usually needs opening up, often just a case of bending up (or cutting off) the inside flange on one or both sides.

As per Davids comment - thats what I meant.

Missed the bit about engine and chassis rail.

Its the original exhaust routing.

Richard, David,

thanks for the information. I was wondering if it should fit there but it seemed a nearer fit between engine and chassis rail. I'll have another look now.
Richard I've no idea what make it is - it was an earlyish ebay purchase and I'm actually wondering if it is actually for a midget or whether it might be for another A series application.
If I get it to fit I'll post a picture!
