MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Fuel pump

Hi, I have just replaced a faulty SU fuel pump on my 1275 midget with a Facet pump, which is working o/k.

The SU pump had a breather / vent connection to the fuel tank, but the facet pump does not have a breather connection.

What do I do with my breather pipe please ?

Thanks, Alan.

The breather pipe did not go to the tank on the old SU it went into the boot space. I assume you are refering to the breather that vented the top of the pump where the points reside?

If someone has vented this into the tank then thank your lucky stars you are still here to tell the story and now you will need to plug the vent to prevent fuel from escaping.

Thanks Bob, your right the vent does go into the boot, but when your lying on your back wearing bifocals the tank and the boot are really close together !

Thanks again, Alan.
