MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Frogeye front wheel cylinders

Morning
Has anyone else had this problem?
Bought new brake cylinders but casting is different from the old ones.
The shoes don't fit into slot on top of cylinder body without catching on casting above the cylinder to back plate fixing hole.
The length - base of cylinder to above the fixing hole is greater.
And the depth of the slot in cylinder base for the end of shoe is deeper.
All bought from frogeye specialist.
I've not been able to find anything in the archives.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Phil

single or twin leading shoe brakes?

I cannot comment specifically on your new cylinders but I have had to borrow a generator and angle grinder, whilst touring in Austria, to modify new snail cam adjusters that had not been machined correctly. New brake shoes often need 'fettling'.
Not the cheapest of solutions would be to get someone such as Past Parts to sleeve your old cylinders with a stainless steel insert and fit new 'rubber' seals.

Hi
Single
Thanks
Sorted now - ground about 2-3mm off top of casting - all fits ok now.
Looking again at the old cylinders it looks like that it what has been done before.
