MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Electrical Harness Question
I need a new wiring harness for my midget (1971 model USA) restoration. Who makes the best one. Money is no object.
WHU Underwood
The only harness I had made was by Autosparks... http://www.autosparks.co.uk/ They make standard looms, but I had a custom loom made for my race car, with various additions and deletions. You would obviously need to pay shipping from the UK and, presumably, import duty, but they do supply a good product.

That would be Shawn then!! - He is in western Oz pay for his ticket, the wire and put him up whilst he is there and I am sure he will do you one!!!!
Mick - nearly ready to paint
If you want the best, order from Peter at ... http://www.thewiringharness.co.uk/ and tell him that John, the mad Australian radio amateur recommended him to you. Peter's Dad INVENTED the colour coded wiring system that all our cars use and his looms use wires of the correct thickness and specification. Copper is now so expensive that many replica looms use wires that are dangerously thin. Before buying any replica loom, try to compare its wires with the wires in the original loom. If you can't examine the whole loom, ask the manufacturer to supply a sample of the wires they use. OK?

Most of the classic wiring looms are made by an old bloke about a mile away from here at his home. He supplies the british (Moss etc.), who then sell them back here.

WHU Underwood, As for here in the usa, this place has a great reputation, lots of good feed back, never tried them myself. but are vary helpful on the phone. http://britishwiring.com/ If you want to go a Nice and EASY set up, try Painlesswiring.com They make a complete system with modern fuse box, relays,,,all the wires are lebaled every 6 inches or so as to where it goes (exp, left rear brake light), they will even custom make a system if you want something in it....this is the direction I am going when I replace my wiring harness prop

BTW WHU, I am all so going to use posi-locks, for making all my connections, that way no mosture, rust, and bad grounds to deal with.... http://www.posi-lock.com/posilock.html prop
