MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Dynamo to Alternator conversion

I have looked at previous threads but just need some reassurance.
I have a 1964 midget with a dynamo and control box. My control box has the two bobbins. I wish to fit an alternator.
My control box is as follows:
A1 - Brown/Blue, Brown/Blue
A - Brown(thick), Brown(thinner)
F - Brown/Green
D - Brown/Yellow(thick), Brown/Yellow(thin)
E - Black

Which wires are joined together please?

Thanks,
Neil

PS I will be using a Rover alternator.

PS - Forgot to mention that I don't want to keep the regulator. I want it out of the way.

Connect the brown and blue to the brown (A1 to A)
Connect he thin Brown and Yellow to the small terminal on the back of the new alternator.
Connect the 2 large connections from the alternator to the battery side connection on the starter solenoid.

Then throw the regulator away.

Bob,
Thanks for that.
I understand that I have to connect A1 and A (four wires)together.
What do I do with the wires at F, D and E?
I also have the two wires that originally went to the dynamo.

E. is simply an earth wire and of no use.
F. the wire on here is the same wire that is on the F terminal on the Dynamo so is not used anymore. (some people use this as one of the wires that connect the alternator to the starter solenoid)

D. the thick brown and yellow wire on D is the same wire that connects to the D terminal on the dynamo and is therefore of no use. (again some people use this wire as the other wire to connect from the alternator to the starter solenoid.

hope that is clear

Thanks Bob. That's great.
Might come back to you if I have a problem.

The fatter of these could go to the fat/brown wire from the alternator - or you could wire the alternator current terminal to the 'battery' post on the solenoid like the alt Aseries cars.

The field (thin) wire to the dyno is used for the ign light - I can't remember the exact colour of the wire from the Rover alt - but it's not the white/red one; find the 'bulb' end on the old reg box.

No problems Neil, look forward to hearing it was successful.
