MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Connecting a radio

Im putting a radio in my 1500 midget. The radio comes with a wiring harness which will need adapting. The speakers & earth are pretty straight forward. However, Im not sure regarding the live.
In the harness there is a yellow wire & in the installation it says Battery.
There is also a Red wire which the installation refers to as Ignition (ACC)
The MG workshop wiring diagram says the Radio connection is white/green which goes back to the ignition switch. There is a wire connected to this (blanked off) which I assume was a radio connection by the PO there are still speakers in the back.
There is also an orange/white wire on the harness for Car light control?
The question is which wire(s) do I connect back to the white/green wire on the steering column

Sounds like the yellow wire is for the memory and the red is for turning the radio on with the ignition switch .So its the red to the w/g wire and the yellow to a permanent live fused supply you could use the supply to interior light (purple wire)

As Mark says, plus orange/white to the panel lights - red/white.

As I recall

Red= 12 volt power on

Black = ground

orange = memory

Yellow = radio ilumination

Purple = Amplifier turn on

Blue = Power anntenna

That said... at some point inbthe last few years after market radios started using there own color codes and are not generic....so google your radio for correct color code wiring
