MG Midget and Sprite Technical - coil

Hello,
I am repacing may coil on my negative earth midget.
the old type was SW-CB
the white wire on the SW and the distributor wire on the CB.
The one I have got now is + / -
Do I ave to plug the white wire on + and the distributor wire on - ?
Thanks a lot.

With a negative earth car the white wire (power from ignition) is connected to the +. The black/white wire (to the distributor) is connected to the -.

Even if you got them the wrong way round you would probably NEVER notice the difference.

In your case the SW is (pos) and the CB is (Neg)

Sw = Switch

CB = Breaker point

BUT the question You need to ask that I can not answer is...

Do you need a Ballest resistor??? This one always confuses me. it has something to do with the volts and ohms of the new coil.
