MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Blowing fuse.

Hello gentlemen,
Wipers worked then stopped as did blower. Theres an in line fuse that feeds wipers and fan. The dead side of the fuse is earthed somewhere so every time acc. switch turned on , the fuse goes.
Ruled fan motor out.
Checked all switch connectors also.
Now, when i remove the black connector out of the wiper motor, the fuse doesnt blow, the fan works and the dead side of the in line fuse shows dead and not earthed. Could it be the wiper motor gone causing this ? Anybody come across this ? Gary Co. Durham.

model and year?
Are the wipers single or double speed, and do they self-park OK? The DR3 wiper motors are set up to be earth-switched so conventional logic won't help here.

Sorry people - its a 72 midget
RWA Single speed and self park.

Are your panel lights affected by this as they appear to share an earth with the wiper motor?

(don't take below as gospel, and wiring can get amended by previous owners)

Nigel Atkins

Brand new loom fitted. Wipers worked for a short while then stopped. All panel lights work when switched on.

The combined heater blower and airflow flap switch is the suspect. Common fault and the switch is obsolete. I got around it by wiring a flick switch in instead.
The returned

Well done. Talk about missing the bleeding obvious! I've always had an added-in separate switch on my car that I'd totally forgot about the original blower switch.
