Do you really think it will fit under the bonnet? If not, wouldn't you be better off putting the effort into a K? David "cowardly lion" Lieb

For $200...100 lbs uk money!!! Its a real temptation, luckly the guy is diliverring ONLY in the UK and not the USA. It would be a unique and fun project to undertake, and the cool factor of the car would be elevated by at least 423% ....I have read about this conversion, but it so expensive and radical, that you will be farther ahead by just doing a V-tec motor exchange...after all the top of the engine will be way more advanced then the lower part of the engine...so by going a V-tec you get the complete package..... Still, that would be a great BMW/A-series engine to show up with at any car show and say look what I built, Who's the mechanical apostle of visard now? Uh HUH!!!....lol. prop

But buying the head is just the first step of a thousand-mile hike. Unless you have your own machine shop, you can't afford the project. David "I can't even afford to pay someone to fix my Spridgets" Lieb

http://www.specialist-components.co.uk/ but it does require a lot of engineering..... If you really want to run FI then wait till summer when there might be a new head kicking around ;-)

Details, details, and more details.... No money, no shop, no enginering degree..... Why do you think they make hand guns??? lol. prop

After some Beer it would seem a good idea, then the morning after, and that thought what did I do... Not me:)

| Prop, If I were to build a 16 valve I would go with a KAD kit, but if I had that much money I am sure I would spend it on other things. I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do with my 78' and I am thinking about bringing it to Florida and building it into a sweet looking economy midget and the 74 will be the fuel hungry turbo charged midget. But that being thought out I would have the 78 sitting around boring me while I would spend the most of the time driving the 74 turbo charged midget. The only thing that would hold me back from spending all of the money on modifying an a series motor so far is I always think "why?" and there is no reason because for just as much money and with far less pain in the ass engineering you could just swap out the whole drive train for something modern which was meant to run 16 valves and has a 5 or 6 speed and a rear end that can take that much power and torq. | Ah stefan, Your proof that great minds think alike, I totally agree, If I where going to go down that road, Id do a V-tec....But Im guessing the thought is even a temtation to you as well.... As for me I have got my plan and sticking to it....My Big problem is I just cant get enough work going to pay bills AND buy the parts I want for the midget. So hopfully after easter I can get some more work seculed, that people are fiddling on.... prop |

Prop, we all wish we had allot more done to our cars that we actually have, that is what keeps me going, looking forward to working on it next. Here is what the midget looks like tonight. The block should be back from the machine shop next week and I am getting ready to install it. I will let you know how the progress goes, tonight was the first night of tear down and I am still waiting on the oil to drain out of the gearbox and then the engine will be all the way out. Tomorrow I am planning on removing everything from the engine compartment and cleaning it all up. Stefan ![]()

i would NEVER go for the kad head Morspeed an SC deliver a nice pac witch helps in bringing down the work needed and makes it "manageble" and it just fit's a std mini nose so the midget wil need a bonet bulge (or move the engine back) how ever i would go for the minisport 7 port head (also known as the akm head) a bolt on crossflow head with an amazing power potential (uses the std valve train so realy just a head swap!)

like wot I have on order!!
Toby Anscombe
The problem with the VTEC 1.6 and 1.8 is the crank goes the wrong way around.
K Harris
I have heard if you put in the "Dist" it will counter act and drive forwards.... prop
