MG Midget and Sprite Technical - A40 Farina Halfshafts ?
Does anybody know if Austin A40 Farina halfshafts are the same as spridgets ones , or are they wider/longer ones like a Minor 1000 ? I guess Mr Boldry can help me on this one. I have the opportunity to gain two modified ones (tapered and shot peened) from a car that is being broken for spares. Cheers Ian

Ian. They are NOT the same as midget / Sprite ones, they are a length on their own. IF by chance they are still available, I MAY be interested (IF you are not). What else is available? Mark.

They are unique to the A40. I have a friend with an A40 so might be interested in them (though his is a road car).

Mine will be running either 1340 or 1380 and is being built as a Road Rally car. Yeh, another project...! Mark.

Mark / Daniel Thanks for the info. The car is on ebay at the moment, so in the end I dont think the shafts will be available. If the car doesnt sell they might be for sale, but as the owner doesnt have another std set to replace he's reluctant to take them out right now. We did the mod ourselves, not to difficult but the turner need good tools in his lathe, and a middle support as they wip around a bit. For the shot peening we paid £10 a shaft IIRC Ian
