Apparently someones written about this in a book some where.
I'm sure he'll be along soon to point you in the right direction.
This is a mod i've yet to do & have yet to see a suitable motor in the now adays rare scrapyards, anyone an part number suitable for an evil bay search?
Brad (Sprite IV 1380)

Laurent apart from the changes this supplier is cheap so go for it. You probably need a switch from an MGB and some wire but that should do the trick.

I fitted a 2-speed wiper motor from a Marina to my Sprite, although I had to use the original pinion gear to get the correct sweep angle.

I also fitted a 2-speed motor from an MGB to my A35.

AFAIK late 1500 midgets had 2-speed wipers.

You need a 3-position switch and an extra wire from the switch to the motor. If you have the early style square motor, it will be slightly more complicated.

I used to have a 'chip' in my old Midget's loom that used to do intermittent wipers, which was very useful.

Had a look at my two speeder last night and couldn't find any visible part numbers but it looks awfully like the one Laurent found on e bay. Works a treat! The fast speed does seem quite fast in comparison to standard. What I want to really do is to put in a push switch do a single wipe without having to flick the toggle on and off.

Dave,
mine is an early type wipper motor.
Why it will be slightly more complicated?

I had a lot of rain last WE in the mountains, and the wippers were not enought quick. I used the GPS to follow the way!
And it took 3 days to dry the carpets LOL

Laurent - what can I say? The short answer is yes.

In fact any new or re-con round body motor will be 2 speed as they stopped making single speeds a while back.

You might not want to use the original drive cog as their are alternatives that provide more sweep.

Yes, as Brad says - all the info (though nothing on intermittent wipe) in this book.

I believe that the book also has a picture of the world's only Purple cooling system hose for a Spridget.

I did exactly as per Dave O'Neil. (though mine was a Ital)

I have the rocker switches so the wiring was as simple as change for a later dual speed rocker switch and run 1 extra wire.

thank you everybody for the informations

Here while we re on the subject ish?? to a degree i would find intermittant more usefull any one done that ? i suppose a three position switch would be a start ?? anyone got any ideas
