MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1500 Twin SUs Picture help

Hey Everyone,
I acquired a set of twin SUs from Clive Redding in Toronto (on this board...thanks so much!) a few years ago. They came off a UK spec midget 1500. All complete except they're missing the throttle linkage set up.

I want to fabricate my own with my welder, and have a rough idea what I need but some close-up pics of the set-up from those who have this would help immensely.

I was looking on MOSS UKs site for replacements and they don't seem to want to sell me this, hence the reason to make my own.

Can anyone help with some nice close-ups?

Pretty please?

a thread on this forum a few places down called ' Carb springs; there are three? ' has a photo and drawing but note the model years, they might give you an idea of what to look out for at least

perfect...thanks Nigel!

when I mod it up I'll post pics and dimensions in case someone else is interested.

Chris, my 78 is exactly the same, remember the choke return springs should be wound round types next to the carbs, if missing you can easily put a small lever on the spindle and a long spring similar to the accelerator one for choke return.

I'm all for making my own parts but might want to try an ebay search, see link below as an example.

Don't get me wrong Chris as I make some parts myself but looking at the bits to allow adjustment I tend to agree with Bob.

I don't know but would SU Burlen still supply those parts, have a look on their website

I have to ask...MIG???

Are you doing a russian fightrr plane throttle or actually using a mig welder

I cant imagine how you fab throttle parts by welding

What about a hot rod shop or a well stocked parts store for aftermarket throttles

Prop

Prop and the Blackhole Midget

MIG welder. Lowest settings. Been doing quite a bit of welding with thinner gauge steel. Pretty good success so far.

Gonna give it a shot while the rains are rolling through.
